Assembly of First Nations’ (AFN) Special Chiefs Assembly honours jully black!
I am honoured and humbled by this love and recognition. This entire experience is timely because I am on a healing and self discovery journey. It’s been so hard navigating life without my mother here on earth, but to learn that some of the significance of the Star Blanket is strength, a new identity for me , and beginning of relationships that will help to create change confirms for me that my mommy - who’s now an ancestor - is protecting and guiding me. It also represents dignity which is what has carried me my entire life and career and informs what I will and will not do.
Then to receive the eagle feather, which connects us to the prayers we pray to our creator for blessings each day we GET to wake up, and prayers for prosperity and health … it is so unbelievably aligned with my faith and with the teachings @100strongandsexy! Only an eagle can soar to the heights they do… you’ll never see a seagull up there. This is my resurrection after being crucified for standing up and singing what’s right. Thank you Assembly of First Nations. I am deeply grateful.
